Saints Take NFC South Lead With 31-15 Win Over Bears
Drew Brees passed for 375 yards and three touchdowns, and the New Orleans Saints routed the Bears, 31-15, in Chicago on Monday night. New Orleans (6-8) took over sole possession of first place in the NFC South as a result of the victory.
After a mistake-filled start of the game for both teams, the Saints took the lead for good when Brees hit Josh Hill for an 8-yard touchdown on the first play of the second quarter. New Orleans went up 14-0 when Brees threw a 9-yard scoring strike to Marques Colston just 32 seconds before halftime.
The Saints tacked on 10 points in the third quarter and added another touchdown in between Bears’ TDs in the fourth.
Jay Cutler threw for 194 yards with three interceptions and two touchdowns for Chicago (5-9).
