Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score, as the Seattle Seahawks held off the Washington Redskins, 27-17, in Landover, Md. on Monday night. Wilson finished the game with 201 passing yards and 122 yards rushing.

Seattle (3-1) never trailed, but the struggling Redskins played the defending Super Bowl champions tough down to the game’s final minutes. Behind Wilson’s scrambling play-making and his accurate passing, the Seahawks rolled out to a 17-0 lead late in the second quarter.

Washington (1-4) began to rally when Kirk Cousins hit DeSean Jackson for a 60-yard touchdown just 2:32 before halftime. Kai Forbath’s 27-yard field goal brought the Redskins within 17-10 early in the third quarter. With Washington closing in, Wilson responded by tossing a 9-yard TD pass to Marshawn Lynch with 6:31 to play in the game to all but secure the win for Seattle.

Cousins threw a 6-yard scoring pass to Andre Roberts with 3:35 left, but the Seahawks’ offense drove into position for Steven Hauschka’s 43-yard field goal with 21 seconds to play to wrap up the scoring.

Cousins threw for 283 yards and the two scores. Jackson caught five passes for 157 yards and the long touchdown.
