High School Football Player’s Simple Gesture Is the Ultimate Act of Sportsmanship

There’s been some seriously bad press regarding high school football (not to mention college), but here’s proof not all the players are goons.

Clay Soule, a defensive end for Michigan’s Dansville High, raised eyebrows after he walked over to a rival player for Laingsburg during a game and tied his shoe before the next play took place.

It was a simple act of good sportsmanship that Soule said came naturally:

“He was trying to tie his shoe with his gloves on and he couldn’t do it. I asked him if he wanted me to tie his shoe, and I just went over there and tied it for him. I didn’t think twice about it. I think he was surprised.”

Dansville went on to win the game and clinched a spot in the playoffs, but that almost seems secondary, doesn’t it?
