The league, led by Commissioner Roger Goodell, claims that it only saw the video of Rice striking his fiancee today, something multiple reporters strongly dispute.
UPDATE 2:30 P.M.: The Baltimore Ravens have terminated their contract with Ray Rice, in light of the recently released video. The team did not release any further comment on the situation.
Video has emerged of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice hitting his then-fiancee in an Atlantic City elevator back in February.
Rice received a two-game suspension after earlier video showed him dragging her out of the elevator. Many people thought the suspension was not harsh enough, causing the NFL to change its stance on domestic abuse.
Rice and the woman, Janay Palmer, are now married.
Over the summer, Rice apologized for his actions.
