78-Year-Old Woman Deadlifts 225 Pounds and You’re a Weakling
This woman is getting up there in years…and in pounds she can lift.
Meet Shirley Webb, a 78-year-old woman who can deadlift 225 pounds.
Webb began hitting a gym near her home in East Alton, Ill., about two years ago, got herself a trainer and after about six months could lift upwards of 200 pounds. Now, she frequents the gym about twice a week. The results speak for themselves:
Webb is so good at working out, in fact, that she owns the state record in Illinois and Missouri for deadlifting in her age and weight group.
Webb may be into lifting, but she’s also got her eye on pushing — pushing limits, that is. “I have no intention of stopping right now,” she said. “When I go to the gym and work out, when I leave, I feel so much better than I did when I went in, and I just feel so good. I feel tremendous.”
